In a paella pan or large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until golden brown and fragrant. Add the chopped peppers and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until tender. Add the flat bean and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.

Add the rice and stir to mix with the vegetables. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes, until the rice turns slightly golden brown.

Add the hot broth and season with salt to taste. Stir gently so that the rice and vegetables are evenly distributed in the paella pan. Cook the paella pan over medium-high heat for about 10-15 minutes, without stirring the rice. Then lower the heat to medium-low and cook for another 10-15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the liquid.
