Preheat the oven to 210° (you can also make them in a waffle iron, in which case you won't need an oven).

Beat the egg with the butter until smooth (the butter must be slightly melted but lukewarm, if you mix it hot with the egg it will curdle). Add the dates and beat again.

Add the milk, flour, yeast and beat well (I used half a sachet of baker's yeast powder, you could use fresh yeast but you will have to adjust the quantity).

Let the dough rest for a few minutes (until you notice that it makes bubbles).

Pour the mixture into the waffle molds and... into the oven! They will be ready in about 15 minutes, make sure they are golden but not burnt! If you chose to use a waffle iron, the time will be the one marked by your appliance.
