Poach the onion cut in small pieces or julienne with olive oil over medium heat. In a saucepan is better.

Brown the meat and add the grated or diced tomato. Cook over medium heat for about 5/10 minutes.

Add the glass of red wine and water to cover the meat. Season with salt and pepper and add the bay leaf. Let it simmer for about 45 minutes and stir.

Add the potato, carrots, chopped mushrooms and peas. Cook over very low heat for 1.30/2h. Stir from time to time. The longer it simmers the better the meat will be.
