Lentil dhal with broccoli 🫘🥦

To prepare the lentil dhal, the first thing to do is to finely chop the onion and celery. We poach it in a large frying pan, and do the same with the carrot. It is important that the vegetables are well chopped so that the pieces are as small as possible. Let it cook in the pan over medium-low heat for about 7 minutes.

Meanwhile, add water in a saucepan and heat over high heat. Once it starts to boil, add the broccoli florets (for 2 people, half a broccoli is enough). We leave it for about 5 min. or until it softens a little (the less we cook it, the more properties). Remove.

Now it is time to add the lentils to the pan. I used canned cooked lentils because I did not have the peeled oranges, in this case the preparation is faster. It only consists of adding them washed and drained together with a little water in the frying pan. We increase the fire, and when it is beginning to boil we lower it and add the curry, the turmeric and the pepper. Stir well and with a fork or spoon we crush it until it forms a kind of paste.

Finally, serve with the broccoli, season with a little lemon juice (optional) and our dish is ready.
