Wash the sardines well to remove any remaining guts. Meanwhile, heat a frying pan over medium high heat with a couple of teaspoons of olive oil.

Put the sardines in the pan. Wait 1.5 minutes for them to cook on one side. Add salt on top to taste. Do not touch the sardines so that they do not break.

Turn the sardines when they are golden brown on the side that was upside down. Wait another 1.5 minutes.

Remove from the pan. A squeeze of lemon juice can be sprinkled on top.
